Casita Taqueria is a casual, counter-service taqueria that grew out of Don and Gwen's travels chasing authentic Mexican food in city after city. Corn tortillas are made in-house, meats are slow-braised, and fresh local produce goes into the kitchen when it's available.
The Antos section covers the small stuff done from scratch: chips fried on site, guacamole and queso made fresh daily, salsa made each morning, and a rotating homemade soup based on the chef's call. Flautas — three fried, cream-topped tortillas filled with Oaxaca cheese and a choice of carnitas, barbacoa, pollo verde, pollo tinga, or veggies — round out the starters.
What began as one spot has grown into multiple locations across St. Petersburg, with Casita positioning itself as a neighborhood stop for a cold beer and a taco or two.
