Hop Kiln Estate is one of two tasting properties run by Landmark Vineyards, founded 50 years ago by Damaris Deere Ford, whose family lineage traces back to inventor John Deere. Set in Sonoma's Russian River Valley, the estate takes its name from the historic hop kilns still standing on the property.
Visitors taste estate-grown Pinot Noir alongside other Landmark bottlings. The grounds are built for an afternoon outdoors as much as a tasting — glass in hand, a few rounds of bocce on the lawn, the kilns and vineyards as backdrop.
The James Beard Foundation named Hop Kiln Estate a semifinalist for Best New Restaurant in 2024.
