Our Take

Dry Creek Kitchen earned a Michelin star in 2007 and remains selected in the guide's current edition — a rare sustained mark for a Healdsburg dining room in a stretch of Wine Country crowded with pretenders. The recognition tracks what regulars have said for years: the room delivers on atmosphere, the service holds up meal after meal, and the American cooking justifies the trip without needing gimmicks to sell it.

Value complaints surface here and there, and Healdsburg pricing isn't cheap. But the consensus lands on worth it, not overpriced — the kind of place where diners keep returning because the experience matches the bill rather than apologizing for it.

The trophy case backs up the argument instead of making it: a star held since 2007, a current guide selection, continued local recognition from BiteClub in 2026. That's a restaurant sustaining quality across two decades, not coasting on an old accolade.

The Spot
Dry Creek Kitchen sits inside Hotel Healdsburg, where Charlie Palmer and Executive Chef Shane McAnelly run a Progressive American kitchen built around Sonoma County ingredients. The nightly menu runs three courses, with McAnelly's six-course tasting menu offered alongside it and changing with the seasons.

Thursdays bring the Sonoma Neighbor menu, focused on Northern Sonoma County produce, along with a weekly Pasta Tasting Menu featuring handmade and extruded pastas. The wine list runs past 600 bottles, drawn entirely from Sonoma County producers. Guests can also order the full dinner menu à la carte at the bar, or head to the adjoining Spirit Bar in the hotel's lobby lounge for cocktails and small plates.

Michelin awarded Dry Creek Kitchen one star in 2007 and selected it again for the 2026 Wine Country guide.
