Salumi has been curing meats in Pioneer Square for more than two decades, running as a scratch-kitchen sandwich counter attached to its own salumeria. The shop began under the Batali family before changing hands in 2016; Clara Veniard and Martinique Grigg took over as owners the following year.
The menu rotates seasonally but keeps its longtime staples in the mix, built around the house-cured salami and coppa sold under the Coro by Salumi label. The shop also handles lunch catering out of the same Occidental Avenue location.
It's held on as a neighborhood fixture — regulars point to the cured meats and the size of the portions as reasons to keep coming back, even as some longtime customers have noted the quality shifting in the years since the ownership change.
