The Spot
Sobremesa sits in the heart of the Starland District, where it began life as a wine bar before growing, under partners Jason Restivo and Ryan Ribeiro, into a full-scale restaurant. The two became partners in September 2023 after meeting through Restivo's earlier restaurant, Atlantic, which closed in 2020 — Ribeiro was a regular there, and the friendship turned into a collaboration. Ribeiro, who is of Portuguese descent, gave the restaurant its name: sobremesa, the term for the lingering time at the table after a meal, spent reminiscing with the people around you.

The menu runs on small plates that change with the seasons, built from locally sourced ingredients, alongside a full cocktail program and a wine list the owners have curated with care. The space recently went through a renovation, and regulars point to the staff's wine knowledge and the room's atmosphere as much as the food itself.

Savannah Magazine named Sobremesa a reader favorite in its 2025 city guide.
