Toma sits on the Santa Barbara waterfront on West Cabrillo Boulevard, inside an old-world building with a romantic, beachfront façade. It has served Italian-inspired Mediterranean cuisine since 2013.
Executive Chef Gregorio Bonilla, who joined the kitchen in 2021, builds the menu around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients layered into the restaurant's Italian-inspired repertoire.
Stewardship of Toma passed to Sam Grant and Julian Sanders in early 2023, in partnership with Bill Parsons and Richard Sanders. Sanders, a third-generation Santa Barbaran and certified sommelier trained through the Culinary Institute of America's Accelerated Wine and Beverage program, oversees the beverage program, which draws on Italian and local vineyards for its wine list. Grant, a San Diego restaurateur who came up through the TS Restaurants group, oversees daily operations alongside him.
