Off The Griddle started in 2010 as a food cart on SE 50th and Division, founded by Ashley Arthur and Dan Harding, serving made-from-scratch veggie burgers and fries. Within a year it became a brick-and-mortar spot called A.N.D. Café on SE Burnside, before relocating in 2017 to a restored building on SE Foster Rd and reclaiming the Off The Griddle name. A second location later opened on NE Alberta St.
The menu is entirely plant-based and leans into American-style brunch fare: biscuits and gravy, a walnut meatloaf benedict, jackfruit "brisket" hash, breakfast and chorizo burritos, and sandwiches like the Rise N' Grind on rustic white bread with field roast and chia-berry jam. Many dishes can be made gluten-free on request.
The bar pours craft beer, cider, and kombucha on draft, alongside a dedicated Bloody Mary menu and mimosas made with locally squeezed orange juice.
