The Spot
Nepali Momo Kitchen, on N 15th Street in North Philadelphia, keeps its menu centered on momo, offered across a wide run of preparations — steamed, fried, Himalayan chilly, tika, jhol, choyal, tandoori, Jimboo le Janeko, and madkaa — each available in veg, cheese, chicken, goat, and shrimp versions. The jhol momo, served in a peanut-tomato broth, draws mixed reactions from regulars, while the goat versions have built a reputation as standouts.

Beyond the dumplings, the menu adds Himalayan egg noodle and fried rice, roti with paneer and vegetables, aalu chilly potatoes, and chauchau sadeko, a cold noodle salad tossed with Himalayan spices. Mango and lychee lassi and Nepali chya round out the drink list.

The restaurant has built a following as a neighborhood spot, drawing weekend crowds and regulars despite a small footprint. The Infatuation scored it 8.5 out of 10.
