The Spot
Irwin's occupies the eighth floor of the Bok Building in East Passyunk Crossing, built around modern Sicilian cooking and a wine list weighted toward low-intervention, small producers. Chef Michael Vincent Ferreri came up through Jose Garces's Tinto, Michael Solomonov's Zahav, and Joey Baldino's Zeppoli before opening Aldine with George Sabatino and later writing the opening menu at Res Ipsa.

The menu moves through mezze, pasta, and whole-animal entrees — swordfish with pistachio and green garlic, bucatini alla Nerano, broccoli rabe with pecorino and anchovy, and agrodolce chicken all share space with a cocktail list and the wine program. A seasonal terrace opens up rooftop views when the weather cooperates.

Tucked between the bar and the kitchen pass, Salvatore's Counter is a four-seat Sunday evening setup where Ferreri prepares a ten-course menu with wine pairings, narrating the story behind each dish and pour as the meal moves along.

Irwin's has been named to Eater's Essential 38 and received an 8.8 from The Infatuation.
