Farm occupies five of the original living spaces and the courtyard of La Plaza, the outdoor mall built in 1934 by architect Harry Williams for Ohio investor Julia Carnell. The owners modeled the restaurant on cafés they'd visited in the south of France, aiming to recreate that sun-washed, walled-city feeling inside Carnell's historic courtyard — a drink on the menu is even named for her.
The interior is broken into smaller rooms with fireplaces rather than one open dining room, with additional seating spread across the courtyard, giving the space a cozy, home-like feel.
