The Spot
Fritai serves Haitian street food out of Treme, framed on its own terms as an effort to bridge the connection between Haiti and New Orleans through food. The approach is casual and community-facing rather than formal.

The restaurant has picked up outside attention alongside its neighborhood presence: it made Eater's Essential 38 list for New Orleans, was reviewed by The Infatuation, and its chef was named a 2026 James Beard Foundation semifinalist for Best Chef: South.

Beyond the dining room, Fritai runs food demonstrations and classes and sells scratch-made sauces and condiments, treating cooking as something meant to bring people together rather than just fill a menu.
