Sushi House traces its roots to 1996, when founder Diana opened her first sushi restaurant in the western suburbs of Chicago. The Leawood location carries that same à la carte format, with sushi, sashimi, and rolls made to order alongside cooked dishes and bento boxes.
The menu runs from nigiri like Kinmedai and Shima Aji to sashimi plates such as Beni-Toro, plus rolls including the Tropical Roll and Spicy Crab with Mango. Two dishes stand out as signatures: the 5041 Roll and the Poseidon Roll. Beyond raw fish, the kitchen turns out cooked plates like The Kalbi (beef short ribs with kimchi), Agedashi Tofu, a Haru Maki Set, and Bento Box A with steak teriyaki, house salad, and shrimp and vegetables.
The restaurant also handles catering and private events for groups looking to bring its menu off-site.
