Sayachi Sushi is an Edomae sushi restaurant in Brookside built around a sushi bar and dining room. Owner Carlos Falcon, formerly of Jarocho and Jarocho South, brings a Mexican approach to seafood into the sushi format, most visibly in the Jarocho-inspired Sayachi Ceviche on the appetizer list.
The menu covers familiar Edomae ground — chirashi rice bowls, nigiri and sashimi served as Okimari (chef's choice) at lunch, and rolls like the fried Kansas City Roll with smoked salmon and cream cheese. It also reaches beyond sushi into Gyu Don with marinated ribeye, Tokyo-style soy broth ramen with pork belly and soft-boiled egg, and Japanese-style Tebasaki wings. A rotating Roll of the Week, currently a Jalapeño Yuzu with yellowtail and ponzu, keeps the menu moving.
