The Spot
Zydeco Louisiana Diner has been cooking South Louisiana food in Downtown Houston since 1988, working from Cajun family recipes passed down by Mama Lou. The kitchen turns out dishes you'd find at dinner tables across Acadia Parish: corn maque choux, chicken and sausage jambalaya, crawfish etouffee, salmon creole, stuffed pork chop, fried catfish, and catfish and shrimp po'boys, with bread pudding and chocolate cake for dessert.

Catering is a specialty of the operation, alongside the daily menu, and the diner also hosts private parties and events.

The restaurant has built a loyal following over its decades on Pease Street, with memorabilia covering the walls and a regular crowd that includes customers who've been coming since it opened.
