Local Table is a Garden Oaks/Oak Forest offshoot of the family behind Hungry's Café and Bistro, the longtime Rice Village and Memorial neighborhood bistro. This newer concept was built for a different generation of that family — young households in the suburbs looking for a spot that's equal parts hip and kid-friendly, with a name meant to evoke both fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a sense of neighborhood connection.
The space includes a patio, TVs for sports viewing, and a private event room in the corner of the dining room, positioning the restaurant for happy hours, birthdays, and family gatherings alongside regular dine-in service. It has built a following as a brunch destination, with regulars citing generous portions and consistently strong food execution.
Service draws consistent praise from guests, and the restaurant has a reputation for reliability across its menu — though some items are seen as a better value than others.
