The Spot
Goldee's Barbecue has become one of the most talked-about smokehouses in Fort Worth, built by a young team of pitmasters who put together their style in a short amount of time. Brisket rippled with fat and beef rib draw the most consistent praise, and the rest of the menu holds up well enough that regulars rarely single out a weak plate.

The Lao sausage is a signature departure from standard Texas barbecue — flecked with lemongrass, lime, galangal, and chili, served with sticky rice and a sweet and sour jeow som dipping sauce. Lines form for hours, and out-of-state visitors regularly make the trip specifically for a meal here.

Michelin awarded Goldee's a Bib Gourmand in 2025. The James Beard Foundation named the restaurant a semifinalist for Best Chef in Texas in 2023.

For those without a half-day to spare, the same team runs Ribbee's, a more laid-back offshoot built around ribs.
