Celebration opened in March 1971 on West Lovers Lane between Inwood and Lemmon, built by founder Ed Lowe out of stone, wood, and copper as a place to serve simple, fresh food modeled on his mother's cooking. The restaurant has billed itself as Dallas' original farm-to-table spot, built on relationships with local farmers and a focus on seasonal ingredients.
Over the decades the original building expanded to include two adjoining houses, a full-service bar, and a patio with a stone fireplace and fountain. Regulars have kept coming back for dishes like the Chicken St. Caroline, part of a menu that changes with rotating specials alongside its everyday staples.
In 1994, Celebration added a catering division, extending its kitchen to corporate events, weddings, and private gatherings around Dallas-Fort Worth. The restaurant and catering operation continue to run side by side out of the same Bluffview property.
