Tom and Kathy Pappas opened Tommy's Diner in 1989 with their life savings, aiming to serve honest, home-cooked food to the Franklinton neighborhood. Their son Michael now helps run the family business, continuing that same approach for a new generation of regulars.
The menu covers the diner staples: omelets, hotcakes, biscuits and sausage gravy, burgers, gyros, and lunch entrées like meatloaf, roast beef, and liver and onions, all served daily through breakfast and lunch hours.
The room leans fully into its era: red vinyl booths, a U-shaped counter, black-and-white checkered floors, pink neon lighting, and walls covered in Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and James Dean posters alongside model airplanes and family photos.
