The Spot
Xiao Bao Biscuit has operated out of a converted gas station at the corner of Rutledge and Spring since 2012, its garage-era bones still shaping a room built for dropping in rather than dressing up.

The menu pulls from across Asian cooking traditions rather than sticking to one region: okonomiyaki topped with a fried egg, bao, dumplings, pad kra, rice plates, bok choy, and pork dishes all show up alongside the biscuits that give the restaurant its name.

What started in Charleston has since expanded with a second location in Nashville. Xiao Bao Biscuit was selected for the Michelin Guide in 2025 and has also drawn coverage from The Infatuation.
