Locanda Brasato is a neighborhood Italian restaurant in Mountain Brook. Executive Chef Duaine, who brings more than 25 years of experience with traditional Italian pasta techniques, hand-shapes fresh pasta daily from scratch, working through a changing lineup of noodle shapes made with Italian tools and methods.
The menu leans on live-fire cooking and seasonal, local sourcing: a Denver Steak from Creekstone Farms Prime grilled over fire, Mediterranean Branzino grilled with seasonal vegetables, preserved lemon, and bagna cauda, and a Heirloom Tomato Pizza with Pecorino, saba, and fresh basil. Pasta dishes include Spaghetti alla Carbonara with guanciale, Pecorino, and egg yolk, and Short Rib Ravioli with caramelized onion and red wine. In summer, the kitchen makes an in-house Chilton County peach sorbetto from local peaches.
