Grecian Gyro started in 1982, when Nick Koulouris opened a small shop in Hapeville built around a secret sauce recipe. His sons, George and Pano, grew up working the counter and later expanded the business into Tucker and Forest Park before it grew into a citywide operation across metro Atlanta, including this West Midtown location.
The gyro wrap remains the anchor: grilled pita stuffed with sliced gyro meat, onions, tomatoes, and Nick's Grecian sauce, with the lamb version drawing particular loyalty. Grecian potatoes have become a signature side, alongside a build-your-own Grecian bowl, a Greek salad with feta and kalamata olives, and baklava for dessert.
At the Midtown spot, regulars keep coming back for the lamb gyros and Grecian potatoes, and the counter staff have built a reputation for being personable and consistent — a convenient stop that's settled comfortably into the neighborhood's regular rotation.
