The Spot
The Downwind sits above the tarmac at DeKalb Peachtree Airport in Chamblee, reached by following the hall to the end of the admin building's second floor. It's been open since 1989, family-owned with Greek roots and Southern cooking, serving pilots, airport neighbors, and regulars who've been coming back for years.

The menu leans toward American comfort food — burgers, turkey club sandwiches, fried pickles — with a Greek salad on offer and rotating specials like blackened grouper. Kids' options such as chicken nuggets and grilled cheese, plus a playground on site, make it a regular stop for families. A full bar and live music most Friday nights round out the room.

The restaurant also hosts groups and private events, leaning into its runway-view setting as a gathering spot as much as a place to eat.
