Oak & Ola occupies a corner of Armature Works, the century-old former streetcar repair barn now anchoring Tampa Heights. The restaurant was founded by Chris Arreola, Andy Ganger, Trudy Cooper, John Cooper, and Anne Kearney, a group of restaurateurs who built a EuroAmerican menu meant to change with the seasons, served around a shared table.
Dishes reviewers return to include hanger steak, snapper, blue crab, and Spanish octopus, alongside a charcuterie board, endive salad, pommes frites, brussels sprouts, albondigas, and zucchini bread. Weekend brunch draws its own crowd, with the endive salad and charcuterie board among the recurring favorites.
The Michelin Guide has selected Oak & Ola every year from 2022 through 2024.
