The Spot
Cafe Selam has been serving Ethiopian food in Seattle's Central District for close to 25 years, planted on East Cherry Street as a fixture of the neighborhood.

The kitchen makes its own injera, offered in a regular version and one made from 100% teff, alongside vegan and meat wats and spiced vegetable dishes and salads. Ful medames, the classic Ethiopian breakfast, is a regular on the menu too. Seating splits between a cozy dining room and a seasonal patio garden.

Regulars describe it as a hole-in-the-wall gem — modest, unfussy, and known for generous portions and welcoming service.
