Brophy Bros. Clam Bar & Restaurant sits directly on the dock at Santa Barbara Harbor, where it's operated since 1986. A third generation of the Bennett family now runs the place, continuing a sustainable seafood program alongside the daily business of oysters on the half shell, clam chowder, garlic baked clams, and fish and chips.
The format is casual and lively: a clam bar facing the open kitchen, and a full-length bar along the marina side where guests can watch boats come and go while they eat and drink. Bloody Marys are a signature at that bar.
The harbor setting draws fishermen, families, and visitors most nights of the week, and the Santa Barbara Independent named Brophy Bros. among the city's best in 2025. A sister location operates at Ventura Harbor.
