Our Take

Miller & Lux sits at the foot of Chase Center in Thrive City, and it plays to that address: marble staircase, wood-columned dining room, leather booths, carts rolling through with champagne and desserts built for photographs. This is steakhouse as event, and on a night when you want spectacle with your dinner, it delivers one.

The case for coming is simpler than the room suggests: the steaks are genuinely good, big cuts cooked with the confidence a place like this needs to have. Service and atmosphere pull their weight too, when the kitchen isn't dragging a meal into its third hour. The complaints are real — pricing that assumes you're here for the occasion rather than the food, a pace that tests patience, cooking that can coast when the room is this busy doing other things.

None of that cancels the steak. It's the one element that isn't negotiable, and it's strong enough to carry the rest. Michelin selected Miller & Lux for its 2026 guide, which tracks with what the kitchen is actually capable of when it's paying attention. Go for the occasion. Stay because the beef earns it.

The Spot
Miller & Lux takes its name from Henry Miller and Charles Lux, two 19th-century immigrants who turned a butcher shop into one of the largest cattle ranching operations in American history, earning the nickname "Cattle Kings of California." Chef Tyler Florence carries that legacy into a steakhouse at Thrive City, the plaza at the base of Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors.

A marble staircase leads up to the main dining room, where wooden columns and leather booths frame views toward the bay. Service leans on tableside theater — carts rolling out champagne pours and large cuts of meat, with desserts plated for the moment. Portions run generous, and the room has become a regular stop for celebrations and sightings of Warriors players passing through.
