The Spot
Artifact at Mingei operates inside the Mingei International Museum in Balboa Park, part of the Urban Kitchen Group family that also includes Cucina Urbana, Cucina Enoteca, and Morena Provisions. The kitchen serves Mediterranean-leaning food across lunch and dinner service, with a separate Craft Café menu running alongside the main dining room.

Beyond the standing menu, Artifact offers a prix fixe dinner option and a rotating series of monthly regional dinners built around specific cuisines — a Silk Road menu has been among them. Happy hour is also part of the regular lineup.

Michelin has named Artifact a Selected restaurant in its San Diego guide every year from 2023 through 2026. It has also appeared on Eater's Eater 38 list and been reviewed by The Infatuation.
