The Spot
Dot's Back Inn has been feeding Richmond's Bellevue neighborhood since 1990. It's owned and operated by Chef Jimmy Tsamouras, who runs the kitchen out of a casual, come-as-you-are diner room that's since grown to include a patio.

The menu sticks to diner classics — club sandwiches, pastrami, fries, salads, and the sailor sandwich among them — served in the kind of big portions the place is known for.

The name honors Dot, who started waiting tables at the family restaurant in the 1940s and stayed for nearly 50 years; the restaurant is dedicated to her and to every server who's held down a neighborhood spot like this one.

Guy Fieri and Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives have featured Dot's twice, and the restaurant has built a loyal local following over the decades. Jimmy Tsamouras was named a James Beard Foundation Best Chef finalist in both 1995 and 1996.
