Our Take
Loa operates out of the International House Hotel, a few blocks from the French Quarter, in a room designed by LM Pagano with a whimsical, candlelit feel meant to reflect the layered cultures that built New Orleans. The cocktail program leans into the city's history as the birthplace of the drink form itself, treating that tradition as a starting point rather than a museum piece.

The bar draws a following built on the staff behind it — guests return for particular bartenders and the personalization they bring to a drink order, in a room that stays intimate rather than sprawling. That focus on craft and service earned Loa a James Beard Foundation semifinalist nod for Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service in 2025.

It works as both a hotel bar for guests staying upstairs and a standalone stop for locals passing through the CBD.
