District Donuts Sliders Brew has been turning out scratch-made breakfast and lunch in New Orleans for more than a decade, with this Irish Channel location following the same format as its sister shops around the metro area: biscuit sandwiches, kolaches, breakfast tacos, and burgers built on house-made black sesame brioche buns with Angus patties, house barbecue, and pimento cheese.

The donut case is the centerpiece, with flavors resetting on the first of every month. Past rotations have included a Pineapple Upside Down Donut topped with charred pineapple, a Dirt Cake Donut piled with gummy worms and cookie crumbles, and a Thai Tea Donut filled with Thai tea cream and boba, alongside classics like glazed and cinnamon sugar. Coffee comes from Cool Kids Coffee, roasted in New Orleans, with a portion of every drink and bag sold going to Special Olympics Louisiana.

The shop has built a devoted following over the years for its willingness to keep pastry flavors weird.
