Our Take

The steaks are the draw, and they're fine — generally good, fairly priced. Everything around them is the problem. The room feels like a dungeon, and not in a good way: no windows, an interior that hasn't been touched in decades, service that doesn't keep up. The lobster mac and the French onion soup were inedible.

The twist is that Sperry's already runs a better version of itself. The Belle Meade original works the same playbook in a room with some soul. Go there. Or go somewhere else.

The Spot
Sperry's Cool Springs is the Franklin counterpart to the original Belle Meade restaurant, running the same steak-and-seafood format at 650 Frazier Drive. The space includes a bar area alongside the main dining room, plus private dining rooms for larger parties.

Regulars point to the steaks and prime rib as reasons they keep coming back, often citing the service and an old-school steakhouse atmosphere that suits special occasions. It's the kind of place that draws the same guests back across years rather than one-off visits.
