Stateline Road Smokehouse traces its cooking back to chef Darryl Bell's Kansas City upbringing, carried through a career that ran through Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bistro, Alinea in Chicago, Etoile in Yountville, and Chef de Cuisine at PRESS in St. Helena. He opened the restaurant in fall 2024 with co-owner Jeremy Threat, a Napa native with his own hospitality background, inside a restored Quonset hut in Napa's Rail Arts District that once housed a neighborhood auto shop.
The kitchen runs on 1,000-gallon smokers, and the beef ribs have become the dish regulars and barbecue enthusiasts single out first. The room stays laid-back and family-friendly, a casual counterpoint to the fine-dining pedigree behind the pit.
Napa Valley Life named Stateline Road Smokehouse among its best of 2025.
