Martina sits in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Southwest Minneapolis, built around chef Daniel del Prado's Argentinian-Italian heritage — he was born in Buenos Aires to parents of Spanish and southern Italian descent. Before opening his own restaurants, del Prado cooked at La Belle Vie and Solera in the Twin Cities, then partnered with mentor Isaac Becker to open Bar La Grassa, later returning to work as executive chef at Burch Steak and Pizza Bar. Martina was his first solo concept.
The menu leans on the grill and on pasta, with parrillada, pollo, and pork chop alongside avocado bruschetta and churros. Weekend brunch runs separately from dinner, built around potatoes and a vermouth and cocktail program designed to go with the food.
Eater has named Martina to its Essential 38 list for Minneapolis, and del Prado was a James Beard Foundation Best Chef semifinalist in 2019.
