Dos de Oros is the original, full-service restaurant behind what has grown into a small family of Kansas City spots, opened in 2005 by owner Miguel Cervantes. His brother, Jose "Pepe" Cervantes, runs the kitchen, cooking dishes drawn from the Zacatecas and Guadalajara regions of Mexico. The menu includes cheese enchiladas and guacamole among its traditional offerings.
The restaurant sits alongside two related concepts under the same family ownership: Rey de Oros, a street-style taqueria known for tacos and handmade ice cream, and DDO Chicken Express, a fried and grilled chicken spot made to order. Dos de Oros itself has kept the dine-in, full-service format since it opened.
The Brazen Gourmets has included Dos de Oros among its local picks.
