Tiny's No. 5 sits inside what was once the JMH grocery, a fixture of West University since the 1940s — the restaurant takes its name from the building's old red rooftop sign. It's the second restaurant from the team behind Tiny Boxwoods, opened, as the owners put it, for their loyal neighbors in the area.
The menu covers the full day. Morning brings dishes like Mother's Breakfast (scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, homemade biscuits, whipped honey butter), migas and chilaquiles built on tortillas and pork carnitas, bagel and lox, avocado toast, and a rotating quiche Provençal, alongside pastries from the in-house bakery. The kitchen carries that same all-day-cafe approach through lunch and into dinner.
Regulars point to the burrata and the key lime pie as standouts, and the place has built a following willing to wait for a table and come back for more.
