Mickey's Top Sirloin traces back to 1962, when Mickey Broncucia — whose family had farmed the surrounding land for generations — opened one of the first community bars in Metro Denver's expanding northern suburbs. There was no menu at first; when regulars asked for food, Mickey's mother Laura and aunt Rose cooked what they made at home, and word spread about their Italian lasagne and ravioli, made from family recipes. Those dishes are still on the menu today.
As the restaurant grew, Mickey brought on a chef, José, to expand beyond the family recipes into a full steakhouse menu. That now includes a 24oz Ranch Porter House, a Gorgonzola topped steak, prime rib and lobster for dinner, and a surf and turf plate at brunch.
Today Mickey's operates as a restaurant, bar, and banquet facility on Broadway and 70th Avenue in Adams County, complete with a bocce court on-site. DiningOut Denver has included it among its featured Denver restaurants.
