Onēsan Sushi & Dim Sum sits just off Inwood Road, serving the Preston Hollow area with a menu that moves between dim sum, small plates, and sushi. Chef Ray Skradzinski and Executive Sushi Chef Mingmin Lin lead the kitchen, working from a shared from-scratch approach across both programs.
The dim sum and small plates side includes five-spice char siu ribs, short rib or pork belly bao, Korean fried chicken, dumplings, and wok-charred noodles. The sushi program centers on nigiri and sashimi using tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and snapper, alongside dishes like the Onesan Sashimi, Mango Salmon Sashimi, and riceless specialty rolls.
The room flows from a sushi bar through an intimate dining area out to a covered patio, with a bar program built around Asian-inspired cocktails, sake, whisky, and soju. Regulars come back for the dumplings and sashimi, and the service — Cassie gets singled out often — has built a loyal neighborhood following despite prices on the higher end for the category.
