The Spot
Maple Leaf Diner opened in September 2015, started by owner Michael Delaurier, a native of Windsor, Ontario, who set out to bring a taste of home to his wife's hometown of Dallas. The menu blends scratch-made diner staples with Canadian imports: poutine made with hand-cut fries, cheese curds, and house-made beef gravy, along with peameal bacon, butter tarts, and Nanaimo bars. Southern requests found their way in too, including Chicken, Bacon and Waffles and mozzarella sticks breaded in house daily.

Reviewers also point to the pot roast, latkes, cream puffs, and steak, with portions consistently described as generous. It's built a reputation as a reliable brunch spot in North Dallas, known for a welcoming atmosphere and consistent, freshly made food.
