The Spot
Smack Dab opened as a pop-up in 2015, tucked into the hallway of a Rogers Park bar, before settling into its current space on Clark Street. The menu is built around breakfast sandwiches, with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options running throughout so more people at the table have something to order. Detroit-style pizza, made in collaboration with T&A, has also appeared on the menu and remains part of the catering lineup.

The restaurant describes itself as built for its Rogers Park neighborhood first, and that shows up beyond the dining room: a monthly community meal, always vegan and offered on a suggested-donation basis, runs the first Wednesday of each month. Catering is also part of the operation, covering breakfast sandwiches, wraps, salads, and pizza for offsite events.
