The Spot
Alexander's has operated as a family-owned diner in Chicago since the early 1960s. Luis Mizhquiri, who is of Ecuadorian descent, joined the kitchen in the late 1980s, first working under the Katsafaros family and later alongside the Sfikas family, before the Mizhquiri family took over ownership and operation of the business.

The menu runs on old-school diner logic: breakfast all day, omelets, potato pancakes, and skillets alongside chilaquiles, burgers, and sandwiches like the BLT. The chilaquiles have become a standout order among regulars, and portions run generous across the board.

What began as a single diner has grown into three locations across Chicago's North Side, each serving the same comfort-food menu. Service is frequently described as fast and attentive even during busy stretches, and the restaurant has built a following of repeat customers who treat it as their regular breakfast and brunch spot.
