The Spot
Pinky's Westside Grill sits in Charlotte's Wesley Heights, a diner-style spot built around chef Greg Auten's playful takes on burgers and Southern comfort food. The menu leans into fun names — the Stray Dog, the Nature Boy, the Triple G — for dishes that range from crab hush puppies and corn dogs to a ribeye steak sammich and French dip.

Auten became the first chef to appear on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives for two different restaurants, first in the show's Season 1 episode "Blue Plate Special," then again in Season 22's "Driving through Charlotte." Pinky's itself returned for a third appearance in Season 32's "Takeout: Funky Finds in 'da House."

Beyond the burgers, the menu covers popcorn chicken, patty melts, onion straws, fried squash, and pimento cheese waffle fries, with vegetarian options like a veggie chili and vegetarian burger sitting alongside the meat-heavy staples. Banana pudding rounds things out.

A second location operates in Huntersville, alongside the original Morehead Street restaurant in Charlotte.
