The Spot
Sushi-Wa is an intimate omakase counter in North Charleston from chefs Kazu Murakami and Chris Schoedler, built around Edomae-style sushi. Seating is limited, keeping the room focused on the counter and the meal moving through the chefs' hands.

A sake list built for pairing runs alongside beer selections, with wine corkage available for guests bringing their own bottle. Regulars have pointed to Chris Schoedler's hospitality behind the counter as much as the food itself, and the omakase has built a base of repeat customers willing to pay for it.

Charleston City Paper named Sushi-Wa to its Best of 2026 list.
