Halls Chophouse opened on King Street in 2009 as the Hall family's flagship steakhouse, and it's anchored downtown Charleston's dining scene ever since. The restaurant is part of Hall Management Group.
The menu runs through classic steakhouse territory: wet-aged and dry-aged steaks, prime rib, and a seafood tower off the raw bar, alongside dishes like oysters Rockefeller, wedge salad, and creamed corn. A brunch menu adds French toast and bananas foster to the mix, and the in-house bake shop's caramel cake has developed a following of its own.
The dining room is spacious, with a crowded bar area up front and live music worked into the evening — a downtown Charleston steakhouse built for both regulars and visitors passing through.
