The Spot
Steaming Pots serves West African cuisine from a dining room on West Waters Avenue in Lowry Park North, with a second location running as a food truck in Brandon. The menu leans heavily into the region's soup traditions — egusi, okro, pepper soup, efo riro, banga, cassava leaves, and ground nut soup — all meant to be eaten with fufu, banku, or eba.

Beyond the soups, the kitchen turns out jollof rice, waakye, attieke and fish, whole tilapia or snapper with cassava or yam fries, garden eggs stew, and beef stew, with fried goat and fried chicken on the side alongside sweet plantains and shito hot sauce. Catering extends the menu to birthday parties, corporate events, and weddings, including an oxtail stew made only for catering.

Regulars describe African artwork on the walls and occasional live drum performances shaping the room's atmosphere, alongside generous portions and a staff quick to walk first-timers through the menu.
