Lucky Tigre started as a Filipino pop-up before landing a permanent home in Old West Tampa. The menu draws on flavors and personal experience from growing up in the Filipino diaspora, and the space stays small and unfussy: three tables under colorful plastic tablecloths, stools along a wooden counter, and a few picnic tables out front on the porch.
Weekend lines have grown long for the lumpias and ube matcha lattes. The order to know includes crackly beef lumpias, smashburger bao with sweet tamarind garlic aioli, and a rice plate with five-spice pork belly built to split between two. Lemongrass chicken skewers draw kids, and halo halo under a disco ball has become a way to cool off after church for the neighborhood's post-service crowd.
On Fridays, the restaurant runs a separate morning service starting at 7:30, pouring coffee and matcha alongside donuts.
