The Spot
Redwing Cafe occupies a building dating to 1916 in Rainier Beach, restored by owners Anthony Campbell and Su Harambe, both longtime residents of the neighborhood. Old growth fir walls, vintage light fixtures salvaged from a Boeing facility, and repurposed ductwork give the space its character, alongside handcrafted tables made from maple salvaged off the property.

Local artists from Rainier Beach contributed much of what's on display, including a metal railing, fuse box art, and a large bird piece on the building's exterior. Art on the walls rotates roughly every six weeks. The menu covers vegetarian food and drinks with vegan and gluten-free options built in.

Regulars describe the space as cozy and a bit of a hidden gem in its corner of the city, with consistent praise for the service as much as the food.
