The Spot
Hamdi takes its name from chef Berk Guldal's grandfather, whose dedication in the kitchen shaped Guldal's path into cooking. Guldal trained in Istanbul at Hacı Abdullah Lokantası, one of Turkey's oldest Ottoman restaurants, before working in the U.S. at Cafe Boulud, Eleven Madison Park, and SingleThread as sous chef. He co-owns Hamdi with Katrina Schult, who serves as owner and GM after time at The French Laundry and on the opening team at SingleThread.

The menu centers on charcoal-grilled, hand-minced kebaps as a signature dish, served alongside freshly baked lavash and seasonal mezes drawing on Turkish flavors.

Hamdi has been named to Eater's Essential 38 list of Seattle restaurants.
