Bonhomie Coffee Bar started as a mobile espresso cart before landing inside the Labour Temple building in Downtown Seattle. The name and tagline, "kafe pou bon moun," translate to "coffee for good people" in Haitian Creole, and that Haitian influence runs through the drinks menu, particularly the house-made syrups worked into the espresso program.

The Labour Temple room itself is part of the draw — a historic space that gives the cafe a setting well beyond the usual coffee-shop backdrop. Regulars point to the staff and atmosphere as much as anything in the cup, describing it as a genuine neighborhood fixture in a stretch of downtown not always known for having one.
