The Spot
Araya's Place has been serving vegan Thai food in University Heights since 1987, built entirely around plant-based substitutes — tofu, vegan chicken, plant-based meat, and jackfruit take the place of meat throughout the menu.

The menu covers familiar Thai territory reworked meat-free: panang, red, and green curries; soups like tom yum, tom kah, and hot & sour; salads including som tum and mango salad with cashews and fried tofu; and appetizers such as tofu satay, fresh rolls, and crispy spring rolls. Many dishes are marked gluten-free, and a daily lunch special pairs spring rolls, house salad, and dessert with a curry or stir-fry.

In its University Heights neighborhood, Araya's Place has built a reputation as a longstanding local option, with regulars pointing to its fresh vegetable-forward dishes and consistent service.
