The Spot
Testal opened in 2020 cooking the recipes its owners grew up on in Chihuahua, Mexico: flour tortillas pressed to order, birria simmered slow rather than rushed, and picadillo made with ground beef and potato just like at home.

The menu stays close to that Northern Mexican repertoire — birria tacos served with a side of consomé, carne asada tacos topped with onion, cilantro, and guacamole, and a picadillo burrito wrapped in fresh-made flour tortilla. A vegan chile relleno burrito, stuffed with plant-based cheese and pan-fried in JUST Egg batter, runs alongside the rest of the regular menu.

Phoenix New Times named Testal a Best Mexican pick in its 2025 city guide.
